Recomended WordPress Server Environment

For best experience your hosting provider should support following server software databases and or webserver modules. Anything less than this might cause slow WordPress installation response and can open your website to vulnerabilities.

Development Requirements

For faster development we recommend following server bundles that can be installed on your computer. From the list below select your operating system than download and install preferred server bundle.

Theme PHP Requirements

These are recommended PHP requirements that need to be adjusted before installing the theme. If the requirements are not met some theme features and demo installs will not function properly.

Browser Requirements

For accurate development we strongly recommend Google Chrome browser. It is faster and more accurate than any other browser.

Download Latest WordPress

Installing WordPress is a relatively straightforward process. Check with your hosting provider to see if they provide any automatic installation options. Otherwise, just follow these steps to manually install WordPress in a matter of minutes.

Download Theme Files

1. Go to our download area and download Creatus Theme Package. Save it to your computer.
2. Extract the Creatus Theme Package and locate Creatus.zip archive.

Install Creatus Theme

3. Go to your WordPress dashboard (Ex: http://your_wp_install/wp-admin )
4. Go to Appearance > Themes than click on Add New button.

5. Locate the Upload Theme button and click on it.

6. Click on Choose File button, select the previously located ( step 2 ) Creatus.zip archive and click on Install Now button.

Assign Creatus Theme as your default theme

7. After the theme installation process click on Activate link.

Select Auto Setup Process

8. After the theme activation you will be redirected to Creatus Auto Setup screen where you can choose the desired auto setup process. Setup process is divided in 3 categories;

• Plugins & Demo Content  -  installs all required plugins and dependencies and redirects to demo content install screen
• Plugins Only  -  installs all required plugins and dependencies
• Skip Auto Setup  -  skips plugins, dependencies and demo installation and only activates the theme

To create new Blog post please follow these short step by step instructions;

1. Log in to your WordPress Dashboard   -   www.yoursitename.com/wp-admin
2. In WordPress side menu locate Blog Posts > Add New link and click on it.
3. Once you are in blog post edit screen simply fill in the post required fields like Title and Content
4. While here you may also adjust following options;
   1. Choose post format
   2. Add post categories
   3. Add post tags
   4. Add featured image
   5. Add custom CSS for your post

Once you are done setting up your post you may want to preview it before publishing. To do so, locate the Preview button and click on it. If everything is as you need it to be , click on Publish button to go live with your new post.

Blog post options

To access Creatus Blog post options please go to Blog posts > Add new and locate the Post options tab inside the Creatus options meta box.

This section contains one popup option that will help you change default blog post theme options for this post only. The popup contains same options as Posts > Single post sub tab in theme settings.

Blog post media

Blog post media will help you add more than one media item to your blog posts. You can choose from variety of available media selections. Beside these great choices you get to control the layout of selected media. To do so you can adjust following options;

1. Media layout  -  select desired media layout. Slider or grid.
2. Media container height  -  Set media container height.
3. Media image size  -  Select the media image size to be used.
4. Include featured image  -  Include/exclude featured image in post media.
5. Media posters  -  Activate media posters for all media types except images. If this option is inactive, all videos and iframes load on page load and increase page load time. This option adds a preview poster wich than activates the media on click.
6. Post media  -  add your post media.

Please note that Post media tab is visible only if post format is standard. Otherwise you get to see specific post format options tab.

Unyson theme framework Breadcrumbs extension creates navigation menu for the pages that can be placed anywhere in the theme. If you wish to disable it please locate Unyson in left side vertical menu. Than click on Breadcrumbs extension Deactivate button to deactivate.

Please note that theme hero and page title sections are using this extension. If this extension is disabled a fallback to simple breadcrumbs function is activated.
