Download Latest WordPress

Installing WordPress is a relatively straightforward process. Check with your hosting provider to see if they provide any automatic installation options. Otherwise, just follow these steps to manually install WordPress in a matter of minutes.

  1. Download the latest stable WordPress (http://wordpress.org/download/)
  2. Extract the zip file and transfer all content to your web server via FTP
  3. Navigate to your web server PHPMyadmin
    • Create a new database, name it anything you like (write it down!)
    • Create a new user for the database (write it down!)
  4. Navigate to your website (www.yoursitename.com)
  5. Click the Create Configuration File button
  6. Click the Let’s Go Button
  7. Fill in the MYSQL database information with the details from above
  8. Fill in Blog Title and Email details and click Install WordPress Button
  9. Write down your username and password
  10. That’s it! Your WordPress site should be up and running.

Pre installation info

In this tutorial we will provide step by step instruction for quick and easy Creatus Theme Installation. Before following these steps please read System Requirements tutorial.
Installing Creatus WordPress Theme

Download Theme Files

  1. Go to our download area and download Creatus Theme Package. Save it to your computer.
  2. Extract the Creatus Theme Package and locate Creatus.zip archive.

Install Creatus Theme

  1. Go to your WordPress dashboard (Ex: http://your_wp_install/wp-admin )
  2. Go to Appearance > Themes than click on Add New button.

  1. Locate the Upload Theme button and click on it.

  1. Click on Choose File button, select the previously located ( step 2 ) Creatus.zip archive and click on Install Now button.

Assign Creatus Theme as your default theme

  1. After the theme installation process click on Activate link.

Select Auto Setup Process

  1. After the theme activation you will be redirected to Creatus Auto Setup screen where you can choose the desired auto setup process. Setup process is divided in 3 categories;
  • Plugins & Demo Content  -  installs all required plugins and dependencies and redirects to demo content install screen
  • Plugins Only  -  installs all required plugins and dependencies
  • Skip Auto Setup  -  skips plugins, dependencies and demo installation and only activates the theme

Activation info

Please note that you will not be able to see or receive Creatus Pro updates unless the plugin been activated for your domain. List of all your domains activations can be found in your member area under the Activations tab.

To access Creatus Pro Plugin Activation please go to Creatus Child > Creatus Pro Activation menu link and click on Click to activate Creatus Pro updates and support button..

Login Redirect

If you have previously logged in Themezly members area the activation will be automatic. If you did not log in you will be redirected to the members area. Please login by supplying your membership credentials.

After successful login, your Creatus Pro plugin will be activated and you will be redirected back to your WordPress website Creatus Pro Plugin Activation page. Now you will see the Your Creatus Pro Plugin is Activated. Have fun! message and the button has changed to Deactivate.

Moving to a new domain

If you need to move your website to a new domain first deactivate the updates for Creatus Pro Plugin on your old domain by clicking on Deactivate button in Creatus Pro Activation utility and than activate it again on your new domain.

Demo Images Info

Few images that we have used in our demo have been purchased from stock photo websites like Shutterstock. Due to copyright restrictions we do not have legal rights to distribute those images. We can only use them on our live demo installations, thus we are forced to blur them out or replace them before we deliver the demo to you. However you can find similar or more suitable images on Unsplash.

Demo installation process explained

For easier start we have bundled several demo installations with Creatus Theme. These installations will replicate Creatus Theme demos as you see them on our demo website. The actual demo installation process consist out of following steps;

  1. Your current installation backup
  2. Demo download from our server
  3. Extraction and demo installation
  4. Image sizes restore ( longest process )
  5. Installation cleanup

As you can see from the steps above that the process is detailed thus it might take longer to proceed. The longest process is Image sizes restore and its speed depends on the amount of images used in demo and your server speed. Our biggest demos are Clean and Creatus because we have used many images ( 400+ ) to display all available theme features for you. So we ask of you to have patience and wait for the process to be finished.

Demo installation steps

  1. In WordPress Admin area side menu go to Creatus > Demo install.

  1. Select your desired demo and click on Install button.

  1. After successful installation your will be redirected to your new demo homepage.

Backup Info

Please note that the demo installation will replace all your current installation content. However you can always revert back by restoring the backup.

Restoring Backup

  1. To restore backup in WordPress Admin area side menu go to Creatus > Backup and restore.
