In addition to our Unsyon page builder based demos,  we are working on free and premium themes demos built with Elementor page builder. At the same time we are putting together elements plugin that will be included in the Creatus Pro subscriptions. The lite version of the elements plugin will also be available.

The first batch

First batch will be rolled out in few weeks. The elements plugin is work in progress and first version comes with few Elementor elements and extensions that we need for each demo. We will continue to build on it as we release new Elementor demos. Starter pack should contain;

Free version of Creatus theme is released under GNU/GPL v2 license. This gives you the power to use and extend the theme the way you need it. The GitHub repo is open for all your questions and suggestions.

Where can I download Creatus Theme?

Until the theme is published on WordPress.org you can download it from the GitHub repo or via the downloading link on Creatus Pro pricing page.

Existing Creatus users

All existing members have received Personal One Year Creatus Pro membership which includes one domain license for Creatus Pro and private ticket support. Starting from today everyone that is using Creatus version 1.2.5 or less will see an update notification that is advising you to download and install Creatus Pro.

If you do not have Creatus Pro installed The Thz Core plugin has a fail-safe that will prevent the update. This feature is in place to make sure that all Creatus Pro features are available before the update. In short follow these simple steps to update your Creatus theme;

1. Go to your member area and download Creatus Pro plugin
2. Install and activate Creatus Pro plugin
3. Activate Creatus Pro plugin updates for your domain
4. Update Thz Core plugin to version 1.5.0
5. Update Creatus theme to version 1.5.0

Different customizer modes

Up until now you might have only seen default accordion panels in your WordPress customizer but those come with a heavy price. The more accordions and settings you have the slower the first page load. In order to give you all the options that control the theme layout and style, we had to come up with something new. At the same time we also had to lower the page load. The answer to our problems was options sets popups.

Before accepting this idea we asked on different social channels what customizer users think about it. To our surprise the votes were 60:40 in favor to accordions. Looking at the polls outcomes we simply had to give you both. The default mode is of course accordions. For those of you who like to work in sets and dont mind adjusting more than one option before the iframe change the popups are the perfect fit. And another advantage of popups mode is that you can load all available panels without a page load increase. So there you have it, different modes and everyone is happy!

The customizer options initiation

In order to improve the accordions mode and give you a significant page load increase we are initiating the sections options only when you open the section. So when you click on a specific section for the first time you will see the options fade in or should we say lazy-load. This little trick has tremendously improved the first load and we were able to add all the options that you might need.

Conditional panels and sections

Conditional cusomizer options is nothing new but we took full advantage of it and we show a specific options panels only if you are on the conditional page. For example, if you are on the blog archive there is no need to show you WooComerce, Portfolio or Events panels. These are hidden until you access their pages. This way you can concentrate on a specific options set only.

Theme options override notifications

As you might already know Creatus comes with page theme options overrides. Since the customizer options are synced with backend theme options, customizer is not able to change the options that are overriding the theme options. In such cases we are displaying a popup notification. The notification gives you the info about the page options sets that might not be customizable. There is also a disable notification backend setting or a disable notification for customizing session link that can turn these off for you.

The naming convention

Every new template name  comes with the demo name prefix. This can help you find each Creatus WordPress Theme demo templates faster. Simply add the demo name in the template library search filter and all its page builder templates will be listed for you.

Template font family

To make the templates adaptable to your Creatus theme settings we left out the font family from the text elements. Now when you import the new template it will automatically adapt to your site typography. You can always change this by adjusting the element typography option.

In this article, we will discuss some of the main theme option panel settings. And we will look in detail at a number of key customization options that the options panel offers. It is important to note that theme options can be overwritten on posts, pages and taxonomies, enabling you to customize your site on a page by page basis.

Control Content Layout, Styling and Typography

To open the theme options admin panel, select Appearance > Theme Settings from the WordPress menu. The Creatus theme options panel will now be displayed in your WordPress dashboard.

Under Site you will find the options for controlling the site and content layout, main styling and typography. Altering these settings will help you create a unified and site layout and style, that works for your brand and audience.

Along the top of the admin panel under Site Options you will find four tabs…

• Site Layout – Here you can set the site width, select a boxed or full page layout, and much more.
• Content Layouts – Control where the sidebars appear on each particular page type.
• Styling – Alter the main color palette as well as access further style options.
• Typography – Customize your site’s typography including altering font and link colors, and choosing from over 800+ Google Fonts for the body and heading typography.

As you can see, Site Options provide limitless options that enable you to modify the look of your site to your exact specifications.

Alter the Header Style and Layout

To customize your site’s header, select Header from the theme options admin panel. Here you can select the layout of your site’s header, whether you would like it to appear at the top of the page or on the right or left-hand side, and where the menu will feature in the header.

Some header layouts allow you to add extra features to your header, including social buttons, an advertising banner, branding and more. You can also select to use a sticky header bar on your website, as well as show a header toolbar.

Add a Logo

Under Logo, you will find the settings to control your site’s logo. Adding a memorable logo to your site is important to help your audience recognize and remember your business.

Here you can select your logo type, upload your logo or alter the dimensions and position. If you have a specific page that requires a different logo,  these logo options are also available on per page basis.

Set Up Hero Sections

The Hero Sections option will enable you to set up hero sections and assign them to specific pages on your site. Under the Hero Sections > Default tab, you can select the page type where you want a hero section displayed, and choose the type of hero section.

For example, you may want to display a full slider hero section on every blog page. You can then alter the layout of the hero section and add effects, including background layers, animations and parallax effect.

Customize the Footer

To customize your WordPress website’s footer, select Footer from the theme options admin panel. Here you will find numerous footer settings so you can create a custom footer based on your site’s needs.

Select what content you want displayed in your footer, customize the footer box style, and change the font type and color.

Generate Extra Widgets

The Widget Generator will enable you to add an unlimited number of sections to each widget position. Widget positions include…

• Above the header
• Under the header
• Footer
• Top panel
• Bottom panel
• Sidebar

Once created, the widget areas can be found under Appearance > Widgets. This feature will ensure that your site displays all necessary information, in the right places, so your audience can fully engage with your content. Thanks to our Assign Widgets plugin, widgets can also be assigned on per page basis.

Display Social Links

Linking your website to your social media channels is crucial if you want to grow your following and expose your site to a wider audience.

In the theme options panel under Socials tab, you will be able to integrate your website with your personal social media profiles as well as add social sharing buttons to your posts.

Import or Export Theme Settings

After adjusting your theme options you might want to to import or export the theme settings. This can be done under the Export/import tab.

Files are imported or exported as .json files, and it is recommended that you backup your theme settings before you start an import.
